Sausage Rice Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups of rice
- 4 Extra Sliced Sausages
- ½ Farmer's Sausage, sliced
- 150g of wood-fired oven-roasted pork belly, cubed.
- 1 Flour container
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 2 bay leaves
- Olive oil as needed
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation Method
- Place a drizzle of olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion, garlic, and bay leaves over low heat for about 3 minutes.
- Add the sausage, the sausage and the pork belly to the wood-fired oven. Mix well and let it cook for another 4 minutes.
- Meanwhile, scald the sausage, remove the skin, and crumble the filling. Add it to the sautéed mixture and mix well.
- Add the rice and let it marinate in the flavors of the sausages.
- Add twice the amount of water (4 cups of water for 2 cups of rice), season with salt and pepper, and stir.
- Let it cook for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water has been absorbed.
Tip from Typically.pt
Serve piping hot, accompanied by a green salad or sautéed vegetables. For an even more traditional flavor, serve with rustic bread and a good Portuguese wine.
